Genevieve "Jing" Williams, MA, MPH (she/her)

Introduction

Genevieve “Jing” Williams (she/her) is a Mental Health Counselor whose work centers on creating a supportive, collaborative space where clients feel truly seen and heard. She believes in meeting clients where they are and honoring each person’s unique experience.  Genevieve’s approach emphasizes cultivating self-compassion, encouraging clients to acknowledge and accept their thoughts and emotions without judgment, and working towards living with greater authenticity and alignment with personal values. She is passionate about helping individuals navigate the challenges of life transitions, identity development, and emotional wellness.

Credentials

Genevieve graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a degree in Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She spent her practicum and internship at Riverside Community Care In-Home Family Therapy program providing clinical support to youth experiencing emotional and behavioral difficulties by building resilience and emotional capacity She also provided guidance to families, empowering them with tools and strategies to support their child’s mental health journey. Following the completion of her graduate studies, Genevieve joined the Integrated Behavioral Health team at Boston Medical Center as a clinician embedded within the OB/GYN and Oncology departments. In this capacity, she delivers evidence-based behavioral health interventions to individuals navigating complex medical and psychosocial challenges.  Her work in these multidisciplinary settings deepened her commitment to women’s health, with a particular focus on the perinatal period and later stages of life. Genevieve provides clinical support to patients experiencing trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, diminished social or primary support systems, and a broad range of psychosocial stressors.​

Lived Experience

Genevieve’s work is informed by her own lived experiences as an Asian immigrant, a mother of three, and a cancer survivor. These aspects of her journey provide a deep understanding of what it means to feel like the “other”-to navigate spaces where one may not always feel seen or understood. Surviving cancer while raising a family has taught her the importance of staying grounded, finding strength in vulnerability, and embracing community and support as a vital source of healing. These experiences shape how she holds space for others, offering not only clinical expertise, but also a personal connection to the complexities of identity, transition, and hope.
